Atticus Agrees To Defend Tom Robinson in Rape Case

This week as we read To Kill A Mockingbird, Atticus angers some of the citizens of Maycomb. Scout has a difficult time dealing with the mean things some are saying about her father. What will Scout do?

This week we will continue reading To Kill A Mockingbird. The question of the week is will Boo Radley show himself? Please keep up with the reading some will be done in class and some at home. Your class will check out books on Wednesday for at home reading.

Writing-The first 45 minutes of class will focus on writing skills. Today will begin writing cause and effect essays. We will work on the brainstorming and the pre-writing phase with particular focus on the essay's introduction.
Literature-The second half of the block will be for literature. We will read Chapter 6 of To Kill A Mockingbird in class. Will will continue to focus on symbolism and allegory as well as identify the different elements of the novel's plot.

Literature--Discuss homework reading TKAM chapter 7. Read 15 minutes of the TKAM chapter 8 orally then continue with silent read for 15 minutes.
